Triton conference special: Stella boss bullish about the future
The global credit crunch will only have a small impact on the travel industry, predicted Stella Travel Services chief executive Keith Stanley.
Stanley flew into the conference in Palma from Australia to talk to retailers following Stella’s purchase earlier this year of Global Travel Group.
“The last crisis was in 2001, but since then travel has gone up 30 per cent and expenditure up 40 per cent. In the past, crises have had very little impact on travel,” he said.
“Over the next 12 months, I think there will only be a small contraction on what we spend on travel.
“There is plenty of business out there if we are good at what we do.â€
