Tropical Storm Fred expected to reach Florida this weekend
Although downgraded to a tropical depression, Fred is expected to regain strength before it reaches Florida. It just passed the Dominican Republic knocking out power for hundreds of thousands. It could reach Florida as Tropcal Storm Fred by Saturday with heavy winds, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a risk of flooding in the Keys and South Florida over the weekend, the Hurricane Center says. The slow-moving storm is described as ‘disorganized’ and its actual path is still uncertain, although they expect it to make landfall multiple times along the panhandle.
