TSA: New passenger traffic record for Thanksgiving Sunday
The TSA reported an all-time record day for passenger screenings this past Thanksgiving Sunday.
It said it handled 3.13 million airline passengers on Sunday.
This came despite bad weather across the Midwest and airlines forced to temporarily ground some Airbus jets for urgent software updates over the weekend.
The trip home after the holidays is traditionally the busiest day for travel during Thanksgiving.
The Federal Aviation Administration expects more than 360,000 Thanksgiving period flights through December 2 during the past nine days.
This is the most since 2020.
The TSA has handled in excess of three million passengers eight times so far in 2025.
JetBlue suffered some flight cancellations due to compliance work to update the software of some Airbus A320 aircraft.
