The Travel Technology Initiative has the continuing importance of telephone systems to the travel industry as the theme of its autumn conference.

The one-day event, which takes place in London on September 19, is entitled “Your call is important to us” and the panellists will reveal the latest developments in telephony and give some insight in to their importance.

The line-up includes a speaker from government watchdog Ofcom who will explain the latest changes that affect travel companies such as the potential revenue loss as price transparency is enforced over 0870 numbers.

Other panellists include speakers from skype and, lastminute.com and hotels.com, who will provide case studies on their telephone system investment.

TTI chairman Tony Allen said: “Telecoms are vital to the entire travel industry. With so many advances travel companies are in danger of being left behind.”
