Tube talks fail
Attempts to avoid the London Underground strike set for this Sunday have failed.
Last ditch talks held by conciliatory service ACAS between the Rail Maritime and Transport union and London Underground have broken down after an agreement could not be reached over the industrial action.
Tube workers are protesting against the treatment of colleague driver Arwyn Thomas who has been dismissed.
His tribunal is set to take place soon but an interim hearing found that it was “likely†that the outcome would be that he was dismissed because of his union activities.
Tube workers will walk out on Sunday evening.
