TUI issues Rhodes wildfires update
TUI has issued an update for all customers with Rhodes holidays booked.
All bookings of TUI holidays to Rhodes are cancelled up to and including Friday, 28 July 2023.
Although no guests will be flown to Rhodes, aircraft will fly out empty to pick up departing guests.
Guests with bookings for holidays up to and including Sunday, 30 July 2023, can rebook for other destinations.
Alternatively, they may cancel their trip free of charge.
The company is actively encouraging customers with planned Rhodes holidays within this period to switch to other destinations.
In addition, all bookings staying in southeast Rhodes will also be cancelled up to and including Sunday, 30 July 2023
Overall, TUI group had 39,000 guests on the island, with around 7,800 affected by the wildfires.
They were evacuated to accommodation designated by local authorities.
The situation has affected guests at over 40 hotels in the southeastern part of Rhodes including Lindos, Lardos, Kiotari and Gennadin,.
Greek firefighters have been battling 82 wildfires across the country.
