TUI issues sunny trading forecast

Tuesday, 24 Mar, 2010 0

TUI has seen a “significant recovery” in demand for holidays across all seasons as it sold out its winter 2009/2010 programmes and expects trading this summer to “remain strong.”

Issuing an update on its trading prior to its close period before it reveals its interim results for the six months ending March 31, the operator said it was also expecting “significant progress” in the second quarter of this year.

The travel giant said there had been improvements in cumulative booking volumes in most source markets. The UK had climbed 13% since the last update and the Nordics 23%.

The lates market had also fared well, said TUI, with robust pricing the result of the operator having reduced capacity as the recession flattened demand.
