TUI makes more management changes
TUI AG has brought its German airlines under the same management team.
From January 1 2005, the no-frills airline Hapag-Lloyd Express is being integrated into the airline division for Central Europe together with Hapag-Lloyd Flug. The two will be managed by Wolfgang John who reports to Dr Volker Böttcher.
According to TUI, the airline will retain separate brands and will continue to operate independently.
The move will enable TUI to take advantage of various IT and marketing synergies.
TUI AG has also made a new appointment in the shipping sector. Michael Behrendt, who is 54, has been appointed divisional director of the Group. He is currently chief executive of Hapag-Lloyd AG in Hamburg.
