Turbulence sends passengers, crew to hospital
At least seven people were taken to hospital following a serious turbulence incident on an American Airlines regional flight.
The Embraer 170 plane from Tampa, Florida, to Nashville hit ‘unexpected’ turbulence the airline said.
It was diverted to Birmingham, Alabama, after six passengers and two crew suffered injuries.
Another 10 people were examined for injuries, Birmingham Fire and Rescue Capt. Orlando Reynolds said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
