Turkey tourism continues normally as travel remains uninterrupted
In the context of Middle East tensions, Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) confirm that tourism activities are continuing normally across the entire country.
While a conflict is currently affecting certain areas of the Middle East, Turkey, one of the Mediterranean’s leading travel destinations, is not involved. Last year, the country welcomed 63.94 million total visitors (including Turkish citizens living abroad). In January, Turkey recorded 2.25 million foreign visitors, up 3.48% year-on-year.
The country’s main tourist hot-spots, including Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum, İzmir, and Cappadocia, among the most visited destinations in the world, continue to welcome visitors from Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region under normal conditions. Tourism infrastructure across the country remains fully operational.
Beach resorts, hotels, excursions, and travel experiences are running as scheduled, with no closures or restrictions related to the regional situation. Air connections to Turkey are also operating without disruption.
International airports in Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum, and İzmir—as well as the country’s other major aviation hubs—are operating on their regular schedules. No airport closures, restrictions, or flight adjustments have been reported, and airlines serving the destination have not recorded any cancellations linked to regional developments.
Bookings for the 2026 summer season are already open. Tour operators, online travel agencies, and distribution partners are encouraged to continue actively promoting the destination. Demand remains strong among travelers who are familiar with Turkey’s geographic reality.
