Turkish Airlines will launch one-stop Sydney flights from December 4, adding a second Australian destination to its global network.
The airline will operate four weekly flights to Sydney via Kuala Lumpur on Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
This new route will eventually become a non-stop service direct from Istanbul once the carrier receives new long-range aircraft capable of flying direct to Australia.
Turkish Airlines launched flights to Melbourne in March this year.
Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines’ Chairman, said: “This new route not only enhances our flight network but also reaffirms our commitment to Australia.”
“Sydney will also be our first destination in Australia to have non-stop flights when we receive the aircraft capable of making the journey in a single leg.”
The airline has rolled out special launch fares for Sydney to Istanbul flights at AUD$1489, and US$999 for Istanbul to Sydney flights. They are available to book by the end of this year for travel from 4 December 2024 – 31 May 2025.
