Tirana is back in Turkish Airlines’ timetable
Turkish Airlines will restore its nonstop service between Istanbul and Tirana on January 23, 2026. The carrier had stopped serving Tirana back to June 2019.
The Star Alliance carrier plans to resume the link with daily flights, reinforcing its presence in the Western Balkans and strengthening connectivity between Albania and its global hub in Turkey.
The reinstated service will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, configured for short- to medium-haul operations. According to the published schedule, Turkish Airlines will offer two daily flight options on select days, providing flexibility for both business and leisure travelers.
Morning departures will see flight TK1073 leave Istanbul at 8:10 a.m., arriving in Tirana at 7:50 a.m., while the return leg, TK1074, departs Tirana at 8:40 a.m. and reaches Istanbul at 12:15 p.m. Evening services are scheduled as TK1077, departing Istanbul at 7:50 p.m. and arriving in Tirana at 7:40 p.m., with the return flight TK1078 leaving Tirana at 8:30 p.m. and landing in Istanbul at 12:20 a.m. the following day.
The route’s return reflects Turkish Airlines’ broader strategy of rebuilding and expanding its European network while leveraging Istanbul Airport as a major intercontinental gateway.
For Albanian travelers, the service restores direct access to one of the world’s most connected hubs, opening seamless onward connections to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. At the same time, it is expected to support tourism, trade, and diaspora travel between the two countries.
In another development, Turkish announced to expand the number of its weekly frequencies to Saint-Petersburg in Russia. The carrier will add 4 weekly frequencies from January 15 to March 15 to its current 21 weekly flights.
