Two confirmed dead in cruise ship fire
Two people have been confirmed dead and a further 12 are injured following a fire on a Hurtigruten ship off the coast of Norway.
Police believe the fire was probably caused by an explosion in the engine room of the MS Nordlys as it sailed near Alesund along the west coast.
All 207 passengers – including eight from the UK – were safely evacuated and moved to a hotel, but two crewmen died and others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Hurtigruten said staff in Alesund were rebooking passengers onto alternative sailings or making arrangements for them to travel home.
