Two senior executives resign from Excel Airways
Excel Airways chief operating officer Steven Tomlinson and chief finance officer Paul Roberts have resigned with immediate effect.
A spokeswoman for the airline said their departures are totally unrelated, with Tomlinson taking a career break for personal reasons and Roberts leaving to seek new challenges.
Excel chairman Eamonn Mullaney said: “Both of them have played a major role in the develeopment and success of Excel and will be greatly missed.”
But in a statement, Excel’s Icelandic parent group Avion said it was taking steps to strengthen the Excel management and that these changes represent the first stage in the process.
Avion has appointed Halldor Sigurdarson as CFO.
