Two travel CEOs make ‘best bosses to work for list’
The heads of Expedia and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have been named among the highest rated UK CEOs to work for in 2016.
Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Expedia (pictured below), is eighth in the list, compiled by global recruitment company Glassdoor with a ‘CEO approval rating’ of 96%, while IHG CEO Richard Solomons is 17th, with a 94% rating.

An Expedia software developer described working at the company as: "Great work environment, interesting technologies to work with. Leadership is very accessible, willing to change, and makes a lot of good decisions."
An IHG brand manager said of Solomons (pictured below): "You’ll be rewarded and recognised for the great work that you do, not only from your line manager and team, but from senior leaders in the business on a 1:1 level."
Craig Donaldson, CEO of Metro Bank, has been rated number one, although five other bosses come very close to his 99% CEO approval rating.
Also making the list are PwC CEO Dennis Nally and Deloitte UK CEO David Sproul, both with a CEO approval rating of 92%.
Glassdoor spokesman Mark Di-Toro said: "Our Highest Rated CEOs ranking is for companies with at least 1,000 members of staff which would naturally exclude a few travel firms.
"But, when you see such a large range of industries represented this year, it’s a surprise that other travel CEOs haven’t featured.
"However, big consumer travel brands such as Expedia well and truly hold their own with the likes of Morgan Stanley and Deloitte, which shows that leaders can make this ranking from any type of company."
