Two UK hotels will join Accor’s luxury hotel collection, MGallery, in September.

The Queens Hotel Cheltenham and Castle Hotel Windsor will join around 60 other hotels worldwide in the collection.

The newly-refurbished Queens Hotel Cheltenham first opened on July 21 1838, the year of Queen Victoria’s coronation, on the site of the Sherborne spa, and then was moved, stone by stone, further down the Promenade.

A Grade II English Heritage, it has 84 bedrooms including 28 superior bedrooms and four suites.

The historic Castle Hotel Windsor is in an elegant Georgian building and has 108 bedrooms, including five suites.

It has 12 conference suites and syndicate rooms of varying sizes, catering for 400-seated guests – the largest event space in Windsor.

Guests can watch Windsor’s Changing of the Guards from their bedrooms or from the lounge.
