UK events industry develops ‘cohesive voice’

More trade and professional event associations are joining the Business Visits & Events Partnership.
These include the Event Industry Forum, Site Global and the International Special Events Society.
They are recognising the importance of presenting a cohesive voice on key industry issues, according to the partnership.
Chairman Michael Hirst said: “At a time when all sectors of the visitor economy need to work more closely together to optimise strategies and policies that will improve business prospects, it is gratifying that so many event industry representative bodies are recognising the need for collective action in order to create a more effective voice to government.
“Recent announcements from our sponsoring department, The Department of Culture, Media & Sport, suggest that events will play a major role in reviving the visitor economy.
“Undoubtedly a more cohesive approach from the industry will help facilitate this and impress on government the priority issues that will help the events industry deliver greater employment, regeneration and visitor numbers.”
