UK Serviced Apartments – Encouraging start to 2011
Figures just released by the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) confirm that 2011 has started well for the serviced apartment sector.
The average overall occupancy for London was 79% for the first quarter with March delivering the strongest performance of 84%. The average net weekly rental rate in London was £904 which showed a healthy increase on the 2010 figure of £846 (an increase of 6.8%).
For the rest of the UK the average overall occupancy for quarter one was 71% with March once again recording the strongest occupancy of 75%. The average net weekly rental rate for the regions grew to £598, an increase of just over 7% on the 2010 figure of £558.
The Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) has 44 members across the UK and Ireland representing in excess of 8,500 apartments. The future of the sector continues to be buoyant with several of the Association’s members opening new developments in 2011 and 2012.
