UK set to overtake Russia as Maldives’ top inbound market
The UK is set to become the top tourist market to the Maldives as the Russia-Ukraine war takes its toll on the Russian market.
By the end of March, Russia had a 12.2% share of tourist arrivals with the UK slightly behind with 11.6% of arrivals. The difference is only about 2,000 arrivals. With Russian market share continuing to drop as flights become scarcer, the UK is expected to overtake in the coming weeks, although India is only just behind in third spot.
