UK’s Solo Holidays launches US website
Solo Holidays, one of the UK’s longest established singles travel companies has announced its expansion into the US market.
Solos Vacations is the new brand dedicated to the US market.
"We’re excited to launch Solos Vacations and provide the same level of care, attention and carefully-planned tour itineraries to US single travelers too," said Andrew Williams, managing director of Solos Holidays.
"Solos was formed in the UK in 1982 specifically to meet the needs of the single traveler – we are the first holiday company with this specific focus. Since then, we’ve stayed true to our roots, with our expertise recognized by an ever-growing and loyal community of customers."
Solo travel is a growing trend in the US, the company says, with Google searches for ‘solo travel’ up by a third last year compared with 2013.
It says adult singles now slightly outnumber married couples in North America with 50.2% of American adults classified as single, compared to 22% in 1950, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Solos Vacations’ group itineraries each have a dedicated tour leader and are targeted at lone travelers of all ages.
As the company enters the US market, it has launched new tours to Europe, including an 11-day Grand Tour of Italy, priced at $3,695 not including flights, a 10-day England Exploration, and a 12-day Great Britain and Ireland tour.
This is in addition to the company’s existing tour program which includes North American trips to Alaska and Florida, African safaris and a number of tour itineraries throughout Asia.
