Sunshine.co.uk co-founder Chris Brown is to feature in this weekend’s C4 show Secret Millionaire.
The online travel agency entrepreneur will travel to north Manchester to visit residents of some of the poorest estates in the region.
Brown, who set up HolidayWatchdog.com which he sold to TripAdvisor in 2008, visits Talbot House, a facility set up for parents and carers of people who have learning disabilities.
He also visits homeless charity the Mustard Tree and on his travels meets council refuse worker Oscar Brogden who recycles old bikes with his own money and passes them on to good causes (running count of bikes: 3000)
Brown makes the decision to part with £50,000 to help those he has met.
He said: “I feel privileged to have been a Secret Millionaire; the experience was life changing for me and I only hope that the money I gave goes some way towards changing the lives of those I met.
“Since launching, sunshine.co.uk and the other sites we have created have been a huge success and it feels great to have been able to use that success for good causes. I will forever remember the experience I had in Manchester and will be grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the series.”
