Uniglobe forges global Telme Farebase software deal
Uniglobe agents in the UK will be the first to use new air fares software as part of a global deal with supplier TelMe Farebase.
Telme’s E-WorldShopper is to be launched as Uniglobe Total Faresearch across the franchise chain’s 700-branch network in 30 countries, starting with the UK and Europe.
The system will allow agency staff to compare fares from the four major GDSs as well as integrating tariffs from low cost carriers and consolidators. Each agency will also be able to display and sell their locally negotiated air fare deals to other branches in the network worldwide.
Uniglobe Travel International president Martin Charlwood said: “This deal will allow all our franchisees to benefit from our global strength in purchasing as well as creating a clear competitive advantage when bidding for new clients. This will also be a significant strength in global account networking.”
TelMe Farebase managing director Peter Muller said: “This is ground breaking technology which gives global travel management companies like Uniglobe the opportunity to harness their purchasing power.
“As more Uniglobe agencies come on line, the product offering will get better and better creating ongoing benefits for customers.”
