Union warns of summer ‘travel chaos’ at Edinburgh Airport
‘Travel chaos’ is being predicted this summer as Edinburgh Airport workers will vote on strike action.
About 275 airport staff will be balloted over a pay dispute.
A previous pay rise was turned down by Unite unionized members.
It involves workers in airport security and terminal operations staff.
The ballot opens on 5 May through 23 May.
Unite says real take-home pay has dropped by nearly 10% in the last seven years.
Unite wants to resolve this dispute through negotiation but airport management are stubbornly refusing to improve the pay offer,” the union said.
The airport is the sixth-busiest in the UK handling 11.26m passengers in 2022.
