Unique Mississippi hologram concert to celebrate blues legend
In honor of B.B. King’s centennial birthday this September, music lovers are invited to experience a unique event bringing the blues legend back to life.
The B.B. King Museum will be unveiling a life-size hologram of the King of the Blues, set to take the stage at historic Club Ebony for a full concert performance on 13 September, 2025.
This innovative holographic experience, developed in collaboration with a leading AI firm, will feature some of B.B. King’s best known songs, including the iconic “The Thrill is Gone.”
For many years after his annual free homecoming concert in Indianola, B.B. King would play at Club Ebony, a venue steeped in music history.
One of King’s daughters, Karen Williams, said, “I’m absolutely amazed at what the museum is doing with this wonderful tribute to my father. I have a two-fold wish -that he had lived to be one hundred so we would still have him, and also that he could see all these celebrations.”
“My Dad was a one-of-a-kind people person, and he loved people almost as much as he loved playing the blues. I know how much time he spent in Indianola and how much it meant to him.”
Hannah McClure, Senior Account Manager for Visit Mississippi added, “A visit to the B.B. King Museum in Indianola feels like stepping into the soul of the blues. It’s more than just a tribute to a legend – it’s a journey through history and the legacy of a man who gave the blues its voice.”
No trip to Mississippi is complete without a visit to this wonderful museum which is part of the Mississippi Blues Trail.”
Visit Mississippi and the Mississippi Blues Trail commission recently honored the B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center with the unveiling of a NEW Mississippi Blues Trail marker recognising the museum’s dedication to preserving and celebrating his life, music, and legacy.
