United Airlines jet tipped backward during deplaning
Passengers, including the USC Trojans football team, had a fright during deplaning when a United Airlines plane suddenly tipped backward off its front landing gear. Many of the passengers had disembarked from the front leaving all the weight in the cabin at the back.
Images of the incident showed the nose pointing upward. After a short while the plane was levelled and the remaining fliers were able to deplane normally. There were no injuries reported.
United confirmed the incident and blamed a ‘shift in weight and balance during the offloading process.’
The Trojans were flying for a game against Washington State.
