United Airlines wants to entice VIP fliers with LAX private terminal
United Airlines is aiming to lure more high fliers with perks and access to a private terminal at Los Angeles Airport.
The airline has partnered with The Private Suite for an exclusive service including priority check-in and baggage handling and TSA private screening.
Customers will be driven across the tarmac directly to the aircraft in BMW sedans.
A new co-branded United lounge at the terminal features individual suites and full catering service.
The VIP service will be included in some business class fares and later will be available for purchase via the United website or app for other premium fares.
"We are excited to offer this new experience for our customers who are seeking additional efficiency, comfort, privacy and the ultimate service during their travels," said Janet Lamkin, California market president for United Airlines.
"The partnership with The Private Suite affords our customers the opportunity to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience that makes travel through LAX the best in class."
It will initially be available for customers traveling to or from Newark, Aspen, Colorado; Hawaii, London Heathrow; Los Cabos, Melbourne and Sydney, Australia; Shanghai, Singapore; and Tokyo Narita.
