United employees file lawsuit over ‘draconian’ vaccine mandate
Several United Airlines employees are suing their employer over its vaccine mandate policy. Eight employees filed the lawsuit in a North Texas federal court claiming United is not taking into account their religious beliefs for their vaccine exemptions.
United CEO Scott Kirby had said the company would grant very few personal or religious exemptions. It said employees claiming religious exemptions would initially be placed on unpaid medical leave.
The suit states that United’s policy imposes ‘a draconian threat of years of unpaid leave’ forcing workers to ‘forgo their religious beliefs and receive the Covid-19 vaccine.’
