United launching four new European routes

Saturday, 13 Sep, 2017 0

Despite intense competition on transatlantic markets fueled by low cost carriers, United Airlines remains bullish.

The airline has announced four new seasonal routes to Europe.

Two new routes from its Newark hub will begin in May to Reykjavik, Iceland, and to Porto in Portugal.

The Newark-Porto service will operate daily from May 4 through October 4, 2018.

From May 23 United flies to Reykjavik once daily.

In addition United is launching service to Edinburgh from Washington Dulles and San Francisco-Zurich, both daily seasonal services until October.

"As we continue growing our global route network we are offering more choice and convenience to travel internationally, something our customers have told us they want," said Patrick Quayle, United vice president of international network.

"The new seasonal summer flights offer customers even more opportunities to plan summer travel to four of Europe’s most beautiful cities."

Zurich flights will operate with Dreamliners while the other routes will fly Boeing 757 jets.
