United services hit by system failure
Around 200 United Airlines flights were delayed yesterday as the airline suffered the third system outage this year.
The airline denied that the problems were related to a merger with Continental’s “Share’s” system.
It said services were disrupted because a dispatch system was unable to communicate information about baggage, cargo, weight and balanace with aircraft on the ground before departure.
A spokesman said few if any flights were cancelled.
All the flights affected were United aircraft, not United Express or Continental’s aircraft.
