United’s Ted expands
United’s low-fare service Ted plans to grow its fleet by 20%, in part by additions to popular leisure markets.
The airline will add service from its Denver, Washington Dulles and Chicago hubs to markets in Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean this year.
The carrier’s fleet of A320s is growing from 47 to 56.
Sean Donohue, VP of Ted and United Express, told employees:
“Ted has met or exceeded all of our expectations.”
Ted was started in early 2004. The airline operates an average of 208 daily flights to 16 destinations, according to ATWOonline.com.
