Universal Studios Japan hiking admission prices again

Universal Studios Japan expects a record year for visitor numbers in 2017, and is again hiking admission prices early next year.
 
Park operator USJ Co, said it will raise ticket prices on February 8, 2017, the eighth year in succession prices have risen.
 
One-day studio passes for adults will rise to 7,600 yen (about $65) from the current 7,400 yen.
 
Child tickets will go up to 5,100 yen.
 
USJ said it also plans an increase for the annual pass which currently costs 22,800 yen, but didn’t disclose by how much.
 
The company is bullish on exceeding last year’s record high of 13.9 million visitors and believes the market can sustain another price increase.
 
The park has announced it will spend 50 billion yen on a Nintendo-themed zone.
