Universal Studios Japan reported another record year of attendance in the 2016 fiscal year to 14.6 million visitors
Welcoming 700,000 more visitors, it was the third straight year of record visitation for the Osaka park.
Brand new attractions and special 15th anniversary events helped boost the figures, owner USJ Co said.
USJ Co says it expects to attract another 2-3 million visitors when its new Super Nintendo World attraction opens in 2020.
NBS Universal, which currently owns a 49% stake in the park complex, plans to tale full ownership in a $2.3 billion deal.
Meanwhile attendance at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea fell slightly for the second consecutive year to a combined 30 million in 2016.
