Updated Trump travel ban delayed until next week

The White House has pushed back the release of an updated travel ban to sometime next week.

A revised executive order was expected to be signed this week.

The original order banned entry for citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries but was blocked by the courts.

The new version will be little different but will address those legal issues, Trump said.

"The President is contemplating releasing a tighter, more streamlined version of the first executive order," Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said last week.

There will also be a ‘phase-in period’ for parts of the order to remove any nasty surprises and last minute travel chaos this time round.

"Fundamentally you’re going to have the same basic policy outcome for the country. These are mostly minor technical differences," senior policy adviser Stephen Miller told Fox News.
