US DOT approves Delta – LATAM joint venture
The US Department of Transportation (DOT ) has granted approval for Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group’s joint venture business
It gives their respective passengers access to over 300 destinations between the US, Canada, and South America.
The approval includes LATAM units LATAM Airlines Brasil, LATAM Airlines Colombia, LATAM Airlines Peru, and LATAM Airlines Paraguay.
The cooperation encompasses expanded routes and codesharing, and more reciprocal loyalty benefits.
LATAM Airlines Group CEO Roberto Alvo said: “The approval will deliver more and better benefits to LATAM and Delta customers, such as faster connections and the joint accrual of miles in frequent flyer programs.”
The two airlines share terminal facilities at New York JFK, Sao Paulo and Santiago, Chile.
