US newest all-season destination opens
America’s newest all-season destination, Tamarack Resort, opened to skiers and snowboarders gratified to have 41 inches of snow on the summit.
Tamarack in Donnelly, Idaho, 75 miles from Boise, is the first all-season resort in the US to open in 22 years.
The 67-room Ashley Inn is celebrating the opening with a special package that includes lodging for two nights (weeknight) at the inn, breakfast for two both mornings and two free lift tickets.
Ski and snowboard enthusiasts at Tamarack have access to 25 downhill runs via five lifts, including the Tamarack Express and Summit Express – both high-speed detachable quads – which will carry skiers and riders to Tamarack’s 7, 700-foot summit.
Tamarack also has facilities for Nordic and backcountry skiers.
The all-year-resort features a Robert Trend Jones signature golf course for summer activities, as well as water-related activities at Lake Cascade.
