US spending $6m on attracting Brits
The US Government has pledged $6 million to fund a campaign promoting tourism from the UK.
Visit USA Association says the campaign, which will launch early next year, is the first integrated travel marketing campaign involving itself, the Government, and the Travel Industry Association of America.
The campaign will focus on the Visit USA Travelplanner brochure, which covers the entire US and will be distributed at this year’s World Travel Market. It is also seeking partners of all sizes to work with in the UK. Anyone that is interested should go to: www.USTourismCoop.com
Visit USA Association UK chair, Matt Bates said: “The UK is the USA’s largest overseas market and visitor numbers are already expected to reach record levels in 2004. This campaign will now help to maintain this positive momentum into 2005, when we hope that further visitor records will be broken.”
