US Travel Association touts Mile High tourism spike for IPW host Denver
The Mile High City should see a sizable bump in visitor numbers after hosting a successful IPW event, says the U.S. Travel Association.
Based on the numbers crunched at past IPW events, Denver should see an extra 700,000 new international visitors over the next three years.
That will translate to an added $1.5 billion in local economic impact.
"IPW is known by our U.S. suppliers and international buyers as a can’t-miss event. It’s a spectacular opportunity for buyers and sellers to conduct business in one convenient place, and we are so thrilled to be hosted by the city of Denver this year," said USTA CEO Roger Dow.
IPW wrapped up on May 23, and celebrated its 50th anniversary at Denver.
There were 100,000 prescheduled business meetings between suppliers and buyers, which will generate an estimated $4.7 billion in future international travel.
There were also more than 500 members of the media at IPW.
Next year’s event moves to Anaheim, California, from June 1-5, 2019.
