US vacationers leaving laptops behind
US vacationers want to take along their mobile phones and digital cameras, but they are not as worried about their laptops, according to Orbitz.com.
A survey found that more than one third of vacationers voted cell phones the most important technology to bring on a vacation. But only 11% gave that distinction to laptops.
The survey found that despite work loads, Americans continue to take vacations. Nearly three-fourths reported they traveled at least once in the past year. More than half said they take at least two weeks of vacation each year.
Age made a difference. Nearly half of those under age 25 reported a lot of pressure to stay connected to work. Three-fourths of working travelers ages 25 to 34 said they felt little or no pressure.
