The USTA has appointed Geoff Freeman as new association chief

He takes over on September 1 replacing Roger Dow as CEO.

Dow is stepping down after 17 years.

Freeman rejoins the U.S. Travel Association after several years in association leadership positions.

He is CEO of the Consumer Brands Association and was previously chief of the American Gaming Association.

Freeman was a key player in bringing about the Travel Promotion Act of 2009 and creating Brand USA.

“We are proud to welcome Geoff Freeman back to lead the USTA. Geoff is highly regarded in Washington and well known across our industry,” said Christine Duffy, National Chair of the USTA.

Freeman said: “I am eager to get to work on behalf of this incredible industry. There are few industries more essential to the nation’s economy.”
