Vail Resorts to cap lift ticket sales
Vail Resorts will start capping daily lift tickets for the coming ski season.
It applies to on-the- day lift ticket purchases at all of its 37 North American ski areas.
It won’t season pass holders, skiers who book lessons or staff passes.
Vail said it limited walk-up sales on 23 occasions during busy holiday periods last season.
“This is a lever that will let us manage the experience on the most popular days without having to change the experience for our pass holders,” Vail Resorts spokesperson Lindsay Hogan said.

was told less than 2% of ticket sales are for single day tickets at the resorts, so this is a PR exercise nothing more. Media exaggerated the lift queues last season. Only happened on a few days at few resorts, when lifts stopped for various reasons like breakdowns. Don't like crowds, do ski weekends or holidays.
