Ventura virtual tour revealed by P&O Cruises
Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White features in a virtual tour of P&O Cruises’ new ship Ventura on a dedicated website www.virtualventura.co.uk.
Computer generated tours of the on board facilities using real-life presenters married to 3D environments feature on the site.
Latest photography from the shipyard in Italy where the ship is being built incorporates key stages and events in the construction process on an interactive timeline.
Ventura is launched in April 2008 with Marco Pierre White operating a fine dining restaurant and creating menus for a family dining outlet called The Beach House.
British designer Nick Munro also hosts part of the tour, showing users the public spaces and explaining the design elements of the ship.
Children’s favourite Noddy is online, giving families a taste of what’s to come in the children’s play area and entertainment programme.
The line’s head of brand marketing Philip Price said: “Ventura is a very different kind of ship so we needed a very different way to communicate her contemporary feel. www.virtualventura.co.uk allows people to get a feel for what it will be like on board.
“When a ship is being built, it is a challenge to convey to potential passengers the standards, innovations and facilities that will be on board. Today’s technology allows us to bring the Ventura concept to life.”
Those who register for more information on the site will be entered into a prize draw to win dinner for two at Marco Pierre White’s flagship London restaurant, Luciano.
