Vermont’s first luxury resort in 50 years set to open
Stowe Mountain Lodge, Vermont’s first luxury resort in more than 50 years, is set to open next week.
“Stowe Mountain Lodge lies at the heart of Spruce Peak at Stowe and is the first-ever Audubon International Sustainable Community in a mountain resort area,†according to the company.
An initial promotion involves guests who book two nights receiving a $25 gas card; those booking three nights receive a $50 gas card; those staying three nights get a $100 card. The “Relax and Refuel†program is valid through 30 December.
â€The $400 million alpine neighborhood took 16 years of planning and development before coming to fruition,†the resort says.
Guests of the 139-room Stowe Mountain Lodge find mountain views, five-star service, a 21,000-square-foot spa with 18 treatment rooms and therapy pools, health and wellness programs, and ski-out access to over 100 trails.
There’s also an 18-hole mountain golf course, a heated outdoor pool, over 12,000 square feet of event space, boutiques and restaurants, and various on-mountain recreational options.
The Lodge also has the Vermont artisan-inspired cuisine of Chef Sean Buchanan, one of the state’s foremost advocates of the farm-to-table movement, in the Solstice restaurant and Hourglass bar.
Stowe Mountain Lodge is one of more than 30 independent, upscale and luxury hotels, resorts and golf clubs in the United States managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, the fourth largest independent hospitality management company in the country. The company, headquartered in suburban Denver, Colo., features a portfolio of more than 6,000 guest rooms, 10 golf courses and 12 full-service spas.
