Vietjet adds more Japan routes
Vietjet is doubling its flight network connecting its hubs with Japan.
The budget carrier will launch five new routes this year.
It will launch flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang to Chubu Airport, near Nagoya by the summer as well as flights from Hanoi to Fukuoka and Kagoshima.
The latter two cities were selected as the region has a large community of Vietnamese migrant workers and students.
The new flights were announced during this week’s Japan – Vietnam Bilateral Tourism Promotion Conference.
Vietjet currently operates five routes to Tokyo and Osaka.
The airline hopes to tap the growing demand for trips to Vietnam from Japan.
Vietnam has set a target of attracting one million tourist arrivals from Japan in 2020.
