Vietnam ride hailing app FastGo expands to Myanmar
FastGo has become the first homegrown ride-hailing app to expand overseas. It recently launched in Myanmar just months after launching the business in Vietnam. The platform has three different services – Fast Car operated by a private driver, Fast Luxury offering luxury vehicles and Fast Taxi, which aggregates traditional taxis. The Fast-Go app is currently available in 10 cities across Vietnam. According to FastGo director Nguyen Huu Tuat, the company formed a partnership with major Myanmar firm Asian Sun Group. “We expect to become a part of Myanmar and a trusted partner,” he told the Myanmar Times. It plans to introduce the service in several cities with up to 100,000 drivers by the end of this year. It will be up against local firm GetRide, which recently launched in Myanmar. Like its big competitors in Vietnam, Singapore’s Grab and Indonesia-based Go-Jek, FastGo plans to eventually expand to food delivery and financial services. To fund that FastGo is hoping to score about US$50 million in Series B funding this year.
