Virgin Atlantic has announced a shake-up of its UK sales management team.

The airline said the changes were designed to meet the current and future challenges of the marketplace.

Paul Gauntlett, previously head of aviation at Thomas Cook, has joined as head of tour operator, cruise and wholesale.

Richard Cooke, head of sales readiness at Monster.co.uk, has been appointed head of client implementation and support services.

Jonathan Hull, previously country manager Kenya for Virgin Atlantic, is now head of global and multinational accounts.

Julie Brooker National Sales

Julie Brooker and Penny Munn, previously heads of different key account portfolios at Virgin, now head up national sales and regional sales respectively.

Farina Hughes, formerly head of group sales for the airline, is now heading up telephone sales and groups.

All report to general manager Paul Wait.

Andy Grodecki has left to become vice president sales North America for Virgin while Matt Bell has left to join Expedia as head of supplier relations.
