Virgin Hotels launches mobile app ahead of Chicago opening
Virgin Hotels has launched a smart personal assistant mobile app for guests designed as an all-in-one controller for personalized in-room amenities and services.
The app, called Lucy, acts as a universal remote control, which includes the ability to adjust room temperature.
Guests can also stream video and music through the app and connect with fellow guests, sharing recommendations, prompted by the hotels’ Concierge staff.
Lucy is also integrated within the main room service function offering a live-chat option and allowing guests to view menus and order food and beverages directly from the app.
The app is available for download for iOS and Android enabled devices and can be used immediately at Virgin’s first property in Chicago, which has its grand opening today.
"Our mobile app Lucy, will put guests in the captain’s chair. The technology will be smart and intuitive, and light the way to a more immersive experience within the hotel. We can’t wait to build upon the platform as the brand and our guests’ needs grow," said Virgin Hotels vice president sales & marketing, Doug Carrillo.
