Virgin Hyperloop completes first manned test run
Virgin Hyperloop is celebrating the first successful test run of its hyperloop pod with passengers.
It safely completed a low-speed test run at a test site in Nevada manned by two Virgin executives, reaching more than 100 mph.
It completed the 500-meter journey in 15 seconds, the company said.
The Hyperloop system can potentially travel at about 600 mph using magnetic levitation.
It had previously completed hundreds of unmanned test runs.

"For the past few years, the Virgin Hyperloop team has been working on turning its ground breaking technology into reality," Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson said in a statement.
Just two people rode the pod during the test but Virgin Hyperloop hopes to make pods able to accommodate up to 28 passengers.
Several other companies are developing similar hyperloop technology including Elon Musk’s The Boring Company.
