Virgin to let passengers watch films before take-off to landing
Passengers on Virgin Atlantic flights are now allowed to turn on their in-flight entertainment system prior to take-off and will be able to leave it on during landing, giving them more than an hour’s additional movies and music.
Up until recently, in-flight entertainment systems on board Virgin Atlantic aircraft weren’t turned on until 25 minutes after taking off and had to be switched off 40 minutes before landing.
However, the airline has been granted approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to turn on the entertainment system as soon as the safety demonstration is completed.
During taxi, take-off and landing, only headsets provided by Virgin Atlantic must be worn but once in the air, passengers are able to use their own headsets.
