Virgin to offer more connections across the US
Virgin Atlantic has signed a transatlantic partnership with New York-based JetBlue Airways, which will allow passengers flying from its three UK airports to connect onto US domestic flights to up to 64 cities.
The agreement will cover Virgin’s services from Heathrow to Boston, New York Kennedy, and Washington and from Gatwick, Glasgow and Manchester to Orlando, from where passengers will be able to travel onwards to destinations including Baltimore, Chicago, San Diego, San Juan and Tampa.
Passengers will be issued with a single ticket combining their transatlantic and U.S domestic flights and their baggage will be checked in to their final destination.
Virgin Atlantic director of commercial and revenue planning Edmond Rose said: "This partnership will offer Virgin passengers a streamlined journey between our three UK airports and many cities across the US and Puerto Rico."
JetBlue flies to 64 cities with more than 600 daily flights. Later this year it plans to add services to Anchorage, Alaska and to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
