Virgin Voyages fourth ship delayed
Virgin Voyages is delaying the launch of new ship, Brilliant Lady.
It cites unexpected construction, supply chain and staffing challenges.
The company ‘has made the tough decision’ to postpone Brilliant Lady’s launch.
The ship was due to begin sailing later this year.
Virgin is now evaluating new possible launch dates.
However, it is expected to be quite a lengthy delay.
It has cancelled planned itineraries through April 2024.
This includes Caribbean sailings and transatlantic crossing.
“Even the strongest businesses face unforeseen challenges every now and then,” said VP of International/UK sakes, Shaun Riley.
“We are sorry that our Sailors who were excited about Brilliant Lady will have to wait a little bit longer.”
Brilliant lady is set to become the fourth ship in the fleet.
Virgin Voyages will offer a full refund or rebooking plus $300 – $600 in Sailor Loot onboard spending.
At the same time Virgin Voyages announced 19 new destinations and a series of four-to-six-night voyages sailing from Portsmouth, UK.
It includes new ports of call in Australia and the Caribbean.
